Alabama School Cafeteria Worker Accused of Inappropriate Relationship with Student
Two school staff members in Alabama face serious charges over inappropriate relationships with students.
A 41-year-old school cafeteria worker in Rogersville, Alabama, has been arrested after admitting to engaging in inappropriate conduct with a student at Lauderdale County School.
Nicole Wigginton has been charged with engaging in a sex act as a school employee and is currently being held in Lauderdale County Jail on a $77,000 bond.
According to reports, Wigginton allegedly engaged in sexual acts with a male student on at least two occasions, including incidents that occurred at her family home. While the student’s exact age has not been confirmed, Wigginton has not been charged with offenses involving a minor under the age of consent, suggesting the individual may be over 16.
In response, the Lauderdale County Board of Education issued a brief statement:
“The Lauderdale County Board of Education is aware of the allegations, and the employee has been placed on administrative leave. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials and have no further comment at this time.”

In a separate incident, Christina Formella, a 30-year-old special education teacher, was arrested last month following accusations of an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old student.

Authorities allege Formella sent the student explicit messages and engaged in intimate acts on school grounds. The situation came to light after the student’s mother discovered the messages while setting up a phone for her son.
Formella was taken into custody in front of her husband. Upon her arrest, she reportedly became visibly distressed and required medical attention for nausea.
These incidents have drawn renewed attention to the importance of safeguarding policies in educational institutions and ensuring accountability for those entrusted with the care of students.
