Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Look Gets Slammed by Aussie Stylist at Bezos Bash

An Australian stylist is making headlines of his own after delivering a brutally honest take on Kim Kardashian’s outfit at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s ultra-luxe wedding celebration in Italy.

Chris Kontos, a creative force in Aussie fashion circles, shared a video on Instagram over the weekend where he didn’t sugarcoat his thoughts on Kim’s dramatic black Balenciaga gown.

“All right. I have to say it — Kim needs to move on from the Balenciaga era,” Kontos said in the clip. “Like, Demna is in an exhibition — it’s done. When something’s exhibited, it means it’s the end. It’s like a period in time. We’re reflecting.”

He clarified he’s not anti-bold fashion altogether, adding, “Doesn’t mean Rick Owens is dead in vibe — just putting it out there — he’s still gonna deliver f**k-off vibes forever. But Kim?”

Throwing a little side-eye at the bride herself, Kontos joked, “Do you reckon she’s trying to get the attention away from that woman that’s getting married — whatever her name is?”

Kontos, who’s been a major player in Australia’s fashion and retail scene for over 20 years, went on to suggest that Kim might be better off leaning into her own fashion empire.

“Maybe she should wear some of that collaboration she did with SKIMS and Cavalli — because that fits the vibe,” he said.

While clearly not loving Kim’s sparkly, form-fitting dress and heavy diamond accessories, Kontos still found room to throw a little love to the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner crew.

“I mean, Kris looks amazing, and Kylie’s delivering rose vibes anyway,” he noted.

As a former Creative Director of the Adelaide Fashion Festival and founder of Chris Kontos Creative, the stylist is known for his strong opinions and bold rebrands. His resume features big names like Harris Scarfe, Acler, and Jac + Mooki, and he’s also played mentor to up-and-coming designers across Australia.

Kim, meanwhile, made a grand entrance to the wedding festivities in Venice, stepping off a boat in her glittering gown with sleek hair, stacked diamonds, and a full security escort.

The Bezos-Sánchez wedding, held on the private island of San Giorgio Maggiore, has been the talk of the globe — with an A-list guest list that included Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Bill Gates.

Between private boats, Michelin-star dining, and a fashion parade worthy of a runway, the weekend celebration has become an instant viral moment. And thanks to opinions like Kontos’, the post-party buzz just keeps coming.
