George Clooney is sporting a fresh look!

The “Ocean’s Eleven” star stepped out in New York City on Sunday, debuting a striking hair transformation while grabbing lunch with his wife, Amal Clooney.

The couple dined at Raoul’s, a favorite among celebrities, alongside their friend and attorney, Kevin Johnson.

Amal, 47, exuded effortless spring style in a cropped plaid jacket, bell-bottom jeans, oversized sunglasses, and statement earrings. Meanwhile, George kept it classic in a black leather jacket, beige chinos, and Adidas sneakers.

But what really caught everyone’s attention? The 63-year-old actor traded in his signature salt-and-pepper locks for a head of dyed-brown hair—a switch made in preparation for his upcoming Broadway role.

Clooney is set to star as legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow in Good Night, And Good Luck, a stage adaptation of the 2005 film of the same name. While he co-wrote, directed, and had a supporting role in the movie, this time, he’s stepping into the lead role.

The play, which Clooney co-wrote with Grant Heslov, officially opens on April 3, with previews starting March 12.

Despite the transformation, George admitted he wasn’t thrilled about coloring his hair—and neither was Amal.

“My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair,” he joked to The New York Times. “My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop.”

Clooney and Amal, who tied the knot in 2014, share 7-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.

But a new hair color isn’t the only change Clooney has made for the role. The Wolfs star also picked up smoking to better embody Murrow, who was known for his three-pack-a-day habit and passed away at 57 due to lung cancer.

“I had to get better at inhaling,” Clooney admitted. “I go outside so the kids don’t see and smoke a little bit.”

Fortunately, he plans to switch to herbal cigarettes once the show begins—a change he’s admittedly “terrified” about.
